Why I’m running
We can do better.
South Lake Tahoe belongs to the people who live here. The City Council’s job is to make decisions that make life better for the people of this town.
Are you happy with the way things are? Do you think the City Council is doing just fine as it is? If you’re good with the way things are, then do not vote for me.

The platform
Practical progress. No dogma.
Strong values do not require rigid ideology. They require a clear standard for making difficult choices.
A functioning year-round community
Permit well-designed housing where it makes sense. Require lasting affordability when the city grants special development value. Expand childcare, protect local healthcare, and help empty homes become resident rentals.
A broader local economy
Welcome tourism while managing its impact. Build locally rooted technology businesses, workforce skills, and livable jobs so our economy is not dependent on visitor volume alone.
Protect Tahoe while allowing progress
Reject substantial environmental harm that cannot be mitigated. At the same time, challenge slow or duplicative rules that block housing and local business without producing a measurable environmental benefit.
Core services before slogans
Invest transparently in wildfire resilience, evacuation, roads, drainage, snow operations, safe walking and cycling, public safety, and the infrastructure residents rely on every day.

How I’ll approach the job
Residents first
Workers, businesses, second-home owners, and visitors matter. When interests conflict, the people who make their primary home here come first.
Do the homework
Listen to people, ask hard questions, understand the tradeoffs, and then make the call. The job is to use good judgment, not avoid every difficult choice.
Own the result
Explain the decision and pay attention to what happens next. If something is not working, fix it or stop doing it.
About Grant
There is nowhere else like it.
I came to South Lake Tahoe years ago because there is nowhere else like it. There really isn’t. Nowhere else in the country combines this kind of natural beauty with a town that punches so far above its weight. We are lucky to live here, and that comes with a responsibility to take care of what we have. The city, the lake, and the mountains all make this place special. I believe we can do a better job.
Many of you do not know me yet, and I do not know many of you. I want to change that. I plan to hold town halls throughout the campaign so I can hear what matters to you, learn from your experience, and let that shape my views.
I will not pretend to know everything about South Lake Tahoe, or about anything else. I’m here to learn, and I’m damn good at learning. My career has required me to lead large teams, learn complex systems quickly, make hard decisions, and own the result. Once I have done the homework, I will make the best decision I can for the people who live here.
This city belongs to the people. The council’s job is to listen, learn, and make decisions that improve life for the people of South Lake Tahoe while protecting the place that brought us here.
